Phew! What a bewildering experience. I was able to find a tutored class every Wednesday in Oxford. So I turned up and started wetting myself with nerves. The whole "I'm not an artist! What the fuck am I doing here?" kicked in. So much I had to get a drink from the bar to help me. I was shaking.
I got myself an easel, paper and some random drawing stuff (all materials were provided) and set myself up. The tutored introduced us to the model who couldn't of been much older then me and then the whole "Oh my god he's gonna get NAKED" thing kicked in. So the guy got naked stood FACE ON at me and the tutored said "Right we'll do 5 positions which I'll give you a minute to draw each".
A MINUTE!? I can barely draw anything in a hour let alone a minute! The whole exercise was to get us loosened up and not to produce anything good. Oh god! It was frightening X(
As the lesson went on I got more confident (or drunk..either way). The tutor was really helpful and also a cartoonist as well as a life artist. He showed me some helpful tips and was really encouraging. Once I had a look around the other peoples work I felt more confident too. Some were rubbish
So..I'll be going again next week. I'm even more excited about my course now after having so much fun in the lesson.

are you sure it was an art class and not a strip bar?
